“But — and I think this is very important — Taylor is leaving a message to a huge audience of young female fans, ranging in age from 7 or so and up throughout their teens and into their early 20s, that they are individuals, that they are important, that they have their own identity, that they can be their own persons and that they don’t have to take crap. I don’t see anyone else stepping up with a similar message for this audience.”
the thing about taylor looking through fans’ twitters and instagrams is that she legit cares about us and when she’s bored she stalks us like we stalk her because she’s a fan of fans. and i think that’s special as hell.
She probably finally figured out how to work it honestly hahah this is the girl who posts “#idontreallyknowwhathashtaggingisordoes”, forgets her password, posts blank photos, double tweets, takes pictures of things on Pinterest because she doesn’t know how to pin them… she’s a gem.
Losing yourself. Forgetting who you are. It happens to all of us at one point or another. For some, the reality rears its ugly head as they’re turning 20, for others, only once they’re 40 years old with 3 kids working a job they despise. It happens to all of us, and for…

Welcome to The Red Tour and Intro to Red!
"Well Good Evening, This is the part that I’ve been looking forward to for a very long time, cuz this is the part where I say to you Omaha Nebraska welcome to the very first night of the RED TOUR. So I’m gonna try to be cool about it, I’m gonna pretend like I’m not absolutely bouncing off the walls but this is the first time anyone will see the show. Look at all this, Look at you, you look good! And there are a lot of you. Thank you for hanging out tonight first of all. If I have seen you before, which I might have, because we really like playing in Omaha, it’s good to see you again, If I haven’t seen you before, It’s nice to meet you I’m Taylor. I write lots of songs about my feelings and I have a lot of feelings and so by you being here tonight, all 13,500 of you have opted in to hearing me sing songs about my feelings for the next two hours so thank you for that! Another thing about tonight, just to give you a heads up since this is the first place I’ve ever played, there’s going to be a lot of one particular color that you’re gonna see a lot. You’re gonna see it on microphones, fingernails and shoes :) and like on lights and stuff all kinds of stuff and you might wonder to yourself man that’s a lot of one color, what’s with the one color. And I will explain it to you now because the way that I see emotion, I kind of compare them to colors. For me Blue is sad, to me like yellow and gold is like comfort and warmth. There’s this one color that defines a lot of the emotions that I’ve been writing about lately, really great emotions like frustration, anger, jealousy, falling in love, falling out of love, heartbreak, all that good stuff. and you know I read about that stuff so much that I even named an entire album after it and I even went so far as to name an entire WORLD TOUR after it, because ladies and gentleman boys and girls colors that define the emotions that shape up and teach us things, I think there’s one color that represents the most important ones, and that color is RED"
4. You Belong With Me
5. The Lucky One (with Video Montage Before)
6. Mean (With Intro)
"You know, picking the 1st place to open up your tour, there’s a lot of pressure on that decision and I’m the one who ends up making that decision so if ends up being like a “yeh” crowd, that’s on me but if it ends up being THIS! That just makes me look a little smarter to my band and crew, because man, it’s your birthday? Happy Birthday. You’re friendly. You Know, this is my banjo, banjo, omaha, omaha, banjo. One thing I have noticed about you guys, so far is that I feel like in order to come up with these signs and these puns and these lyrical creations you come up with in the audience, I see them and I love them and it’s very creative, it’s very imaginative and it leads me to believe that we have a lot of daydreamers out there in the crowd tonight, is that true? I’m like that too, I have been since I was a little kid, I think when I was younger the most popular daydream in my imagination was what it would be like to grow up some day and get to play music for a living, to get to play music in a giant room like this. And um, another thing I use to daydream about was when I was in school I use to think how cool it would be to be a grown up because I had this daydream that when you grow up there are no more mean kids, like there are no more bullies, no more people who pick on you and how wonderful that would be if that were actually the case, but, it turns out, I went ahead and grew up a little bit and I realized that it has nothing to do with how old you are, whether you’re in school, no matter what your job is, no matter who you are, everybody’s got somebody picking on them and there’s always going to be someone that tells you you’re not good enough or makes you think you don’t deserve what you want. and when I realized that I just picked up my banjo and started singing and I started writing, someday I’ll be living in a big old city and all you’re ever gonna be is Mean."

11. Begin Again

13. I Knew You Were Trouble - (With Caitlin’s Fiddle Solo)
14. All Too Well (With Intro)
I think for me, I try to stick to writing about what I know, so my songs end up being about my actual life, and I think it’s the most amazing feeling when you actually say exactly what you felt, exactly the way that you felt it. But, I think, sometimes, things get really complicated when you’re losing someone or trying to forget somebody and sometimes you’re not feeling just one thing, you’re feeling so many things and it’s so complicated, it’s almost impossible to pin down the way that you feel and write about it. and so, when that happened to me, awhile ago when i was writing this song, I uh, i thought maybe if what I’m feeling is too complicated to write about, maybe I should just write about the story of what happened from beginning to end because I remember everything all too well.

Omaha 03/13/13 Taylor Played I Almost Do

Taylor Played Should’ve Said No
Intro: “I found this on facebook the other day, somebody wanted to hear this because she was going through a really rough time and was listening to this song. Cuz I have actually gone through the same thing and written a song about it. You know there’s this really cliche that happens and relationships end over it. They’re like 2 people are in a relationship, 1 person does something really bad, the other person finds out about it and then the other person can’t think of them the same way and you’re like ‘why did you do that?’ and he’s like ‘I didn’t mean to’ and you’re like ‘yeah but you did it” and so, I don’t know, for me I just think it’s really easy not to cheat on someone, you just say no.” St Louis 03/19/13 Taylor Played Cold As You (first time and First Song from her Debut Album to be played on the Red Tour)
Intro: “I was actually on my website message board and I was looking at what songs you might want to hear and it’s every interesting for me guys because I can kind of tell what you guys are going through depending on what songs you request. So I’m guessing that a lot of you are really going through it right now, you know if somebody requests a certain song, I figure they are probably going through the worst break up of all time, that’s ok it happens to the best of us. I saw that a lot of you wanted to hear this song, it was actually on my first album that came out when I was like 16, and I’ve actually never played this in concert before, I don’t think ever… What do you think I’m playing right now? I’m just messing around. I don’t know what you think I’m gonna play but I hope it’s the one you want me to play. I don’t really know what you want me to play, but I’m just gonna play the one I saw a lot on the message board.”
03/22/13- Charlotte, North Carolina
Taylor Played Tim McGraw For the First Time in concert
"I wanted to make sure that we kept the spontaneity alive and so I kind of left this one space in the show for just whatever song you felt like I would play and so I kind of go on my website earlier in the day and I look at what you guys might want to hear and I kind of just pull something out. It could be from this album it could be from the first album, it could be from the second album, it could be from the third album " - Taylor Swift,
03/23/13 Columbia, South Carolina
Taylor Sang Forever and Always
"once upon a time.. oh i started in the wrong Key… see anything could happen! Hold on see it’s lower than that, I haven’t played it in 3 years. ."

Taylor Played Starlight!!
“I’m so thankful that you guys have given me the ability to play a really really big show like this, I mean one thing that I never really wanted to lose in having the ability to play a really big show is getting to change things up every night so what I’ve been doing is kind of looking at twitter, I’m looking at my website, I’m looking at facebook, I see what you want me to play and see right now it’s you and me and a guitar. It could be whatever song you guys have mentioned the most and the one you have mentioned the most today was this one.
03/28/13 Newark, NJ-
Taylor Played Story of us!
“I think for me, one of my favorite things about making music is hearing about what you think of it. and hearing about which songs are the ones that you want to hear and which ones are the ones you want to be singles and which ones have the lyrics that you want to write down. I love hearing from you guys so I’ve kind of reserved this spot in the set where I just play something different every night, whatever you want me to play and I was looking on twitter earlier and somebody wanted to hear this. I think she’s going through a situation, like a break up situation because this is a song that I wrote, it’s more of a story of what happened”
03/29/13 Newark, NJ
Taylor Played You’re Not Sorry!
“I truly believe that when dealing with anybody you meet, you should start by trusting them, you know? Like any new friends you meet, any new person you meet, I think that you should truly believe the best in them and the first time that they tell you you’re sorry, you should believe them. But then, if they keep doing the same exact thing that they say they’re sorry for, that means one thing guys, is that they’re not sorry.”

Taylor Played Today Was A FairyTale
“What I’ve been doing is just kind of playing songs I haven’t played in years, that you’ve wanted me to play as I look on twitter and I talk to at my M&Gs and I just kind of figure out what you’d like to hear and this one I haven’t played in like 2-3 years but I hope you’ll like it.”—Taylor Swift intro to Today was a Fairytale
03/11/13 Orlando, FL
Taylor Played You’re Not Sorry for the 2nd time
"I like that you always tell me what your favorites are and what you want to hear. So there’s a spot in the show that I could just play whatever you wanted me to. So I was talking to a girl in the M&G and she said she might want to hear this song. This is a song from a few albums ago. You know when you know somebody who does something to hurt you and tells you that they’re sorry and they apologize and you believe them and then they do it again, the same thing that they did the first time and said they were sorry for and said they wouldn’t do it again but they go ahead and do it again and then they say they’re sorry again and they do it again and they hurt you again and they say they’re sorry but they’re not sorry are they?"
03/12/13 Orlando, FL
Taylor Played Our Song
"Last Night of Orlando Florida, and such an amazing crowd! I’m really excited about our decision to come and hang out with you guys in the back for awhile, you guys are amazing! To everyone at top I just want you to know we can see everything you’re doing. I use to go to concerts and get seats up in the top and I use to think that they couldn’t look up and see us, but now that I’ve been on stage, we can see you!"
“I feel like you guys give me the best advice because I’m always going on my website or twitter or facebook just kind of seeing what you guys want to be the next single, what you want to hear played in concert. So I kind of leave this spot open for you guys and I was looking on my twitter earlier and I was just seeing that you guys wanted to hear this one. This is a song that I wrote for my 9th grade talent show actually. It’s called Our Song”

Taylor Played 15
"Earlier on in my M&G this lovely girl asked me if I would play her this song from my 2nd album, called fearless. She was saying how this one particular song she wanted me to play because she was graduating soon and this song had been one that had helped her in high school. It’s a song I wrote about when I was 15." - Taylor Swift, Intro to 15
04/20/13 Tampa, FL
Taylor Played I Almost Do for the 2nd Time
“You guys have made a lot of choice about my career without even knowing it. You guys are the ones I go to when I want to know what song do you like the best, which ones do you want me to play on tour, which ones do you want to be singles, That’s all up to you, cuz I’m always reading my facebook, twitter, my website, and stuff like that. So thanks for always telling me what you think, cuz it really helps. Just like earlier in the m&g, this lovely girl told me that she wanted to hear this one particular song, so I’m gonna play it cuz you guys always have really good advice. This song is kind of about that person in your life, everybody’s got like one, maybe two, I don’t know how many you have, but at least one person in your life that doesn’t belong in your life anymore cuz maybe they hurt you, or maybe they’re bad for you, or maybe it’s just over, but you kind of want to call them sometimes and you think better of it, but you almost do it.”

Taylor Played Our Song
"You know I, uh. This is a big arena isn’t it? That’s amazing. I was thinking about that when I was at the other end of the big arena, how I could see all these people all the way in the back and I could hear this roar coming from the back of the arena. And so, I thought, Maybe I’ll go investigate that. Pretty glad I did, is it cool if I hang out with you for a second? So I’ve just been leaving this spot open for whatever song you guys wanted to hear the most. I was looking on facebook earlier, actually a lot of people wanted to hear this one tonight in Lexington, KY. This is a song I wrote for my 9th grade talent show, it’s on my first album." - Taylor Swift, Intro To Our Song
05/04/13- Detroit, MI
Taylor Played Ours
"This is a song about how, when you fall in love everybody starts to give you their opinion. I imagine it could be really hard to make a relationship last, I wouldn’t know, but given that everyone is giving you their own opinion about it, I think that the only opinion you should really listen to is yours. and If you love that person, that should be all that matters." - Taylor Swift, Intro to Ours

This is a song I haven’t played I’m going to estimate I haven’t played in 3 or 4 years.” 05/25/13 Dallas, TX Taylor Sang Our Song “I’m thinking maybe I want to play a song from the first album. This is a song I wrote for my 9th grade talent show and you guys made it my very 1st number 1, it’s called Our Song.” 05/28/13 Glendale, AZ Taylor Sang Haunted “This is a song I hadn’t played on this tour so far. It came from one of my friends who tweeted the lyrics today and it reminded me that I hadn’t played this song in about two years. It has to do with the fact that people talk about ghosts all the time. I just kind of imagine it being this supernatural thing, but there’s another kind of ghost and it’s just a person who is out there walking around in the world, just doesn’t love you anymore, that’s a whole different kind of thing altogether.” 05/29/13 Glendale, AZ Taylor Sang Starlight “This is a song I wrote about looking back on a memory of a person that made you feel alive, It’s called Starlight.” 06/01/13 Salt Lake, UT Taylor Sang Our Song “Today when I was at my M&G and adorable, adorable couple wanted to hear this song, and they were so cute and I liked them so much, so this is a song I wrote for my 9th grade talent show, it’s called our song.” 06/02/13 Denver, CO Taylor Sang Enchanted 06/14/13 Toronto, Ontario- Canada Taylor Sang Tim McGraw “Some of you know it because it’s on my first album, I recorded it when I was 16.” 06/15/13 Toronto, Ontario- Canada Taylor Sang Highway Don’t Care “This was a duet I did with someone else.” 06/22/13 Winnipeg, Manitoba- Canada Taylor Sang Teardrops on My Guitar 06/25/13- Edmonton, Canada Taylor Sang White Horse “When I wrote the second album I was 16 and 17 and I was writing a lot about fairytale vs reality and wishful thinking vs truth and that thought process lead me to this song. It’s called White Horse.” 06/26/13- Edmonton, Canada Taylor Sang Fearless “You guys have been wonderful and allowed me to put out 4 albums now, but you can’t play 4 albums in one show so I’m trying to go back over some old songs that maybe you haven’t heard in awhile. So I thought hopefully you’ll want to hear this one. It’s a song I wrote about the best first date I ever had, it’s called Fearless.” 06/29/13- Vancouver, Canada Taylor Sang Long Live “There was a girl in my meet and greet today who asked me to hear this song, she wanted to hear it and I never played it on this tour before. So this will be a first, and this song, it’s kind a song I wrote about the bond between me and my band and everyone I’m on tour with and all of you and how you have done this for me and you made it such an incredible, magical life to live. This song is called Long Live.”
07/06/13- Pittsburgh, PA
Taylor Sang Our Song
"This is the part of the show where it’s just you and me and a guitar. I hope it’s ok with you guys, I decided to hang out with you guys in the back. Is that alright? I was in my meet and greet today and a lovely girl asked me if I would play a particular song. and I said yes, so this is a song I wrote for my 9th grade talent show, it ended up being my first #1. It’s called Our Song." - Taylor Swift, Intro To Our Song
07/13/13- East Rutherford, New Jersey
Taylor Sang Should’ve Said No
"This is a song a girl in my M&G asked me to play and I figured she must of really been going through it because if you want to hear this song in particular, you probably recently had a relationship end badly. Not that there are good ways for relationships to end, but in my opinion there’s one particular way that is the absolute worst. And that way is the way in which one person makes a very crucial error concerning a third party and then asks for forgiveness and then the other person says you should’ve just said no." - Taylor Swift intro to Should’ve Said No
- Philadelphia, PA Taylor Sang Safe and Sound This is a song that was a request from one of my meet & greets earlier, and it was a girl who had spent some time in the hospital, and she would always listen to this song while she was there. It’s a song that I had wrote for a movie called The Hunger Games. It’s called Safe & Sound. Taylor’s intro to ‘Safe & Sound’ 07/20/13 Philadelphia, PA Taylor sang You Belong With Me (since it was skipped earlier due to a 2 hour rain delay) I’m kind of interested to see if you are as loud singing as you are screaming.” Intro to You Belong With Me 07/26/13- Foxborough, MA Taylor Sang Should’ve Said No “I thought I’d come and hang out back here, and maybe play a song that somebody asked me to play in my M&G today. This is the part of the show that’s just you and me and a guitar. A lot of the time I don’t pick what I’m going to play in the spot until right before the show and right before the show I met a lovely girl named Jane and she asked me to play this particular song. and This particular song has to do with the worst possible way a relationship can end, when somebody cheats on somebody else, you just look at them and go come on you should’ve said no” 07/27/13- Foxborough, MA Taylor Sang Fearless “I have kind of been taking requests for this particular part of the show and it comes from you, it comes from either twitter or Facebook or something you say to me in a meet and greet before the show, but it’s always from one of you, cuz you guys always have the best ideas anyway. So this song I’m going to play for you, it’s a song I wrote about the best first date I’ve ever had, it’s called Fearless.” 08/01/13- Des Moines, IA Taylor sang Ours “It’s a song I wrote about how when you fall in love it’s really not up to the people around you to tell you what they think about it but they always will. And if it’s real love, you’ll find a way to ignore it, that everybody else has their opinions, it’s really just between you and one other person. It’s a song I wrote about that, it’s call Ours.” 08/02/13- Kansas City, MO Taylor Sang Stay Stay Stay (since it has now been removed from her original setlist) 08/03/13- Kansas City, MO Taylor sang Our Song 08/06/13- Wichita, KS Taylor sang Tim McGraw 08/07/13- Tulsa, OK Taylor Sang Hey Stephen “I’ve mentioned very subtly who this song’s about.”
Guest Performer: Nelly- St Louis 03/19/13
“St Louis, St Louis, when I think of St Louis I think of the fact that a lot of my family lives here, I also think of the Arch of course and that’s pretty cool, but you know I gotta be honest with you, I mostly think of the fact that one of my favorite artists is from here. I’m just curious, what would you say if I told you that Nelly is here?”
03/28/13- Newark, NJ
Tyler Glenn from Neon Trees Performed Everybody Talks!!
“The first time we have played in Jersey, the most insane, loud sing, screaming, amazing dancing I have ever seen. And do you know what I like to do when I see incredible crowd behavior like that? I like to reward behavior like that. And so I called up one of my favorite lead singers from my favorite band, this is one of my favorite songs and I said would you like to join me in Newark New Jersey for a show for a special surprise guest appearance. So Jersey what would you say if I told you that Tyler Glenn from Neon Trees is gonna sing for you tonight?!”
03/29/13- Newark, NJ
Taylor Brought out Pat Monahan
From Train to sing Drive By!!
“You guys have been one of the best crowds on the tour. You guys have screamed, you have jumped up and down, you have danced, you have made signs, you have dressed in costume, you have learned the words, you have sung the words at the top of the lungs, so I think that deserves a special guest performance. So I called up one of my favorite lead singers, of one of my favorite all time bands and just asked him if he would like to come play with me in Newark and you know what he said yes! So Newark how would you feel if I told you Pat Monahan from Train is here to play for you?”
04/19/13 Atlanta, GA
Taylor and B.O.B performed Both Of Us!
“I really love this crowd tonight! and I just had a feeling that I was gonna love this crowd tonight and I do! And when I got the feeling that I was gonna love this crowd, I called up one of my friends that’s a native of Atlanta. As you may know, Atlanta has quite the music scene and it turned out that my friend was in town and so I called him up and I just said do you want to come and be a surprise special guest at my show. I know him as Bobby Ray but the world knows him as B.O.B.”—Taylor Swift, intro to Both Of Us
07/13/13 East Rutherford, New Jersey Taylor and Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy played My Songs I Know What You Did In the Dark (Light ‘em up) “It is very generous of you and I had a feeling that you would be this way, and so I thought that maybe it might be nice to reward a crowd like this with a special guest performance. and I thought it couldn’t be just any guest performance, it should be a band that has written one of my most absolute favorite songs of the year shouldn’t it? What would you say Jersey if I told you Patrick from Fall Out Boy Is here?” (Ignore Broken Thumbnail, Video plays!)
07/27/13- Foxborough, MA, Taylor and Carly Simon sang You’re So Vain “I’ve decided that I’ve loved you from the start, I will always love you. So I wanted, not only to bring a special guest, but I wanted to bring you one of my absolute heros. I wanted to bring you someone who is from, Boston Massachusetts. Before I bring out my special guest, I have this question that I have always, always had, I feel a lot of you have probably had this question too, I always wondered what the answer is. Who is the song ‘You’re So Vain’ by Carly Simon written about? Ladies and Gentleman Carly Simon”
